Crosby Training aims to offer high quality accessible services to all its customers. We are committed to securing genuine equality of opportunity in all aspects of our activities as an employer and as a service provider. To add value to our contracts, we work with providers of services and training who share our vision and implement equal opportunities policies that are similar to our own.

Crosby training is committed to eliminating discrimination and encouraging diversity among our workforce.  We aim to make our workforce truly representative of all sections of society and for each employee to feel respected and able to give of their best.

This policy aims to provide equality and fairness for all in our employment and not to discriminate on grounds of gender, marital status, race, ethnic origin, colour, nationality, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, religion, faith/belief or age.  We oppose all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination.

All employees, whether part time, full time or temporary will be treated fairly and with respect.  Selection for employment, promotion, training or any other staff benefit will be based on ability and aptitude.  All employees will be helped to achieve their full potential and their talents will be fully used to maximise the efficiency of the organisation.

The company’s Equality Policy, and the measures to implement it, have been devised on the basis of advice from the relevant bodies and have been agreed with employee representatives. The Policy complies with the six strands of the framework of UK Equality legislation and with the codes of practice of the three equality commissions i.e. Commission for Racial Equality, Equal Opportunity Commission, and Disability Rights Commission.

The Equal Opportunities Manager is responsible for the effective operation of the company’s Equality Policy. A copy of the Equality Policy (and all relating policies) is available from the HR department.

THE POLICY
Our commitment is

  1. To have a diverse workforce that represents all sections of society.
  2. To create an environment in which individual differences and the contribution of all our staff are recognised and valued.
  3. To create a working environment for every employee that promotes dignity and respect for all.  No form of intimidation, bullying or harassment will be allowed.
  4. To make training, development and progression opportunities available to all staff.
  5. To review all of our employment practice and procedures to ensure fairness.

Breaches of this Equality Policy will be regarded as misconduct and could lead to disciplinary proceedings.

Monitoring

This policy will be monitored quarterly and reviewed annually. When additional training is ‘bought in’ from partner trainers, to add value to our contracts, we will monitor their equality policies to ensure that they implement a policy similar to our own.
