Is a 13 week programme with initial ‘quick win’ training lasting for the first 3 weeks. The customer will be required to attend for the minimum number of hours specified by the Personal Adviser.
Training will be in groups with 1:1 individual Advice, Guidance and Job Coach support. We will deliver an Induction, and Training Needs Assessment to determine the support required for the customer towards their individual job goals including Basic Skills testing, effective Jobsearch training, Personal Skills development training to improve the ‘soft ‘ skills that employers tell us that they are looking for, and basic IT training.
During the remaining 10 weeks the customer will be supported with their Jobsearch and will work privately with a Job Coach who will give advice on the local labour market and the very lastest vacancy information. There will be many opportunities to meet face to face with employers visiting the Gateway programme. The Jobcoach will help the customer to find the right job and will work with each person to review their progress.
The customer will be able to select from a menu of work focused certificated courses related to their job goals such as:-
Food Safety; Manual Handling; Health & Safety.
Incentives for participants include complimentary treatments at our professional Hair & Beauty Salon ‘all about you’.
Support from our own discretionary fund to help with work clothing and equipment is available as well as free driving lessons for those people who find a job during and within two weeks of completing of the course.
Gateway customers may be eligible for further training and incentives e.g. additional certificated short courses, training packages and free provisional driving licences. Our ‘Fast Track’ programme offers all of this and much more and is available to customers completing the Gateway course.
